...can a presidential candidate pick an almost entirely unknown running mate, have them deliver a speech penned by a for-hire writer that completely contradicts the policies they've supported throughout their entire career and is loaded with completely false accusations about the opposition, have it aired on live television in prime-time supported with top-notch production quality, and followed by passionately un-critical pundits on loop delivering favorable opinions for those not critical enough to have formed their own or content with not having one........aaaaaaaaaaand.........can simultaneously be praised for making an excellent decision.
